Attend mandatory sessions for international students 

Register with the Police 

Required part of entry to Norway​

Everyone must attend, except nordic nationals. ​The appointment is to register your arrival in Norway, so you can receive your residence card. 

Pre-booked appointments​

You do not need to book your own appointment. UiA has a cooperation with Kristiansand Police. The documents you must bring depends on your nationality. ​

Date and time​

  • You will receive an email with your time slot. ​
  • It is important that you respect this time. ​
  • It is possible to swap time with a student in another group if you have a lecture at the given time.

What documents you need to bring depends on your nationality, if you have applied for an entry visa, or if you are applying for your study permit from within Norway.

Tuberculosis Screening 

Students from countries with a high occurrence of tuberculosis is required to undergo a mandatory screening as part of their legal entry to Norway. 

The students do a short interview with a Registered Nurse in Global Lounge to get their appointment at the hospital. It is very important to attend the appointments. 

All students that need to attend the screening will receive an email with more information. 

How to avoid plagiarism 

International students come from different background of academic writing. UiA expect an advanced level of academic writing and source citing. The consequence of not citing your sources correctly are very severe in Norway. This session is to make you aware of the common mistakes students make and how to avoid them.

Complete your registration

Register for courses and exams

The deadline for registration for the autumn semester is 1 September.
The deadline for registration for the spring semester is 1 February.

All students have to sign up for the course and the exam in StudentWeb before the deadline.

For Erasmus+ students, we recommend waiting to send your OLA until you have finished changing your courses and signed up only for the courses you will take.

Start using Canvas 

You can access you course related content in Canvas. 

Once you have approved your education plan in StudentWeb (registered for the courses), you can start using Canvas.

Pay semester fee (full degree students)

Full degree students must pay the semester fee in StudentWeb. You find the payment information under "Payments".  

For Non-EU nationals, please note that the semester fee can be paid from your deposit, if you gave consent for this in the Survey you received by email. 

Exchange students are exempt from paying the semester fee. 

Online Learning Agreement (Erasmus+) 

Once you have completed the registration for courses, Eramus+ Students can send in their Online Learning Agreement. 

How to fill in your Online Learning Agreement 

Confirmation of Stay (Erasmus+) 

The document is provided by your home institution. You need to fill out the information before UiA can sign it. 

Arrival date: No earlier than the UiA Arrival Day
Departure date: Date of your last exam

The interns in Global Lounge will sign your Confirmation of Stay physically, or you can send us a pdf by email to get it digitally signed.
