Student ID card

All students must have a student ID card. With this card you will be able to borrow books in the Library, access buildings and specific rooms, and make use of certain equipment such as printers.

To get a student ID card, you must:

  1. Pay the semester fee and submit your education plan on the Studentweb
  2. Download the Student ID app 
  3. Take a photo of yourself with your phone or use a photobooth on campus, following the criteria for photos (In Kristiansand: under the stairwell leading up to D2/B2 in the main hall. In Grimstad: by the main entrance) 
  4. Log in with your UiA account, set up your PIN code, upload yout photo and press 'Send'. 
  5. Pick up your student card at UiA Help within 2-3 working days. Remember to show valid ID and the Student ID app.

Criteria for photos 

  • Light background
  • No sunglasses or hats 
  • Keep your mouth closed
  • Use portrait format 
  • Must be of good quality, with good light conditions and max 6 months old.
  • No "funny faces"
  • No black and white pictures

Lost card?

  • If you have already taken a photo, and it was less than 5 years ago, the card is still valid.
  • A new card costs 100 kr and can be collected the next day. The service is free if the card is damaged (you must show the damaged card).

Additional tips:

  • Use of printers: pay at the self-service kiosks at UiA Help.
  • Apply for access to additional rooms
  • If you lose your card, you have to pay 100 kr to get a new one. The payment is done at UiA Help. You can pick up your new card at UiA Help after 1 day.
