  • Faculty of Fine Arts reserves the right to make changes in course offerings.
  • If you select courses from one faculty and within one level (bachelor or master level) you will have less scheduling conflicts.
  • As an exchange student you can apply for courses within all three departments.

Application requirements for Classical Music

If you are applying for performance-based courses at the Department of Classical Music and Music Education, you are required to send a recording of a performance with your main instrument.

The recording can be either audio or video – or a combination.  Please send the files to linn.eriksen@uia.no. Remember to mark the files with your full name.

Applying as a performance-based music student for courses at our Department of Popular Music: We do have some additional requirements beyond what is mentioned on the page: How to apply – exchange students:

  • A motivation letter containing the information listed in the document below. You will upload the motivation letter to the ApplicationWeb ("Søknadsweb"). Please see this page for more information: How to apply – exchange students. Please use this template to fill in your motivation letter: Motivation letter - Applying for exchange at the Department of Popular Music at UiA
  • Working links to an audition recording – approximately 7-15 minutes duration. The recording can be either audio or video – or a combination – and must be uploaded to for example Vimeo, Dropbox, or YouTube.You will put the links to your recordings in the motivation letter above. 
  • After we have received your application, and if you are qualified, we will invite you to a 10–15-minute digital Zoom meeting (in November/December for an exchange in the spring semester or May/June for an exchange in the fall semester or a full year) with representatives within the area you are applying to.
