Phd in development studies 1988 with focus on agricultural- and rural development, development assistance and the strategies of international financial institutions. Researcher and professor at Norwegian, Swedish and Tanzanian research institutets and universities.

Agricultural and rural development, development assistance, the strategies of international financial institutions, food sovereignty with focus on East Africa and during the last decade also with a focus on Brazil.
