Specialisation in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

Structure

Within the specialisation in ICT, there are seven scientific fields: 

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Computational Modelling
  • eHealth
  • Embedded Systems and IoT
  • Mobile and Wireless communications
  • Multimedia and e-Learning
  • Security and Privacy

Several elective courses for each scientific field are available. Please find a list of relevant courses in the template for the project description or contact PhD administration. 

General requirements

15 ECTS are normally to be technical courses.

20 ECTS are normally to be taken at UiA. 

Occupational profiles of graduates studies

After successfully completing the PhD degree, candidates will be able to move directly into the professional field as an ICT specialist in a wide range of capacities. Graduates frequently obtain leading positions in industry and business. The specialisation has direct relevance to the computing and communication industry, but job opportunities are not limited to such activities. The specialisation also qualifies graduates for a career in research in ICT at universities and research centres throughout the world.
