Transcripts and diplomas

Transcripts and diplomas from UiA are digital, and you can share your results with others via a link or by ordering a transcript with a digital signature.

Diplomas

All students who have completed a degree will automatically receive a digital diploma, which will be available in the Diploma Registry and in Studentweb. The diplomas will be produced in June and will be available before the deadline for submitting additional documents when applying for admission to other studies.

If you complete your programme at a different time, you can order the diploma by contacting the exam office.

You will not receive a diploma after completing a one-year programme, but it will be reflected in the Diploma Registry which courses and programmes you have completed.

Paper version

Your digital diploma is an original document that follows an international standard. However, if you are applying for admission to a foreign educational institution or for work outside Norway, and there is a requirement for paper copies of your diploma and Diploma Supplement, you can order it by sending an email to the exam office.

The documents will be sent to the home address you have registered in Studentweb.

Processing time is normally three weeks.

Diploma Supplement

The Diploma Supplement (DS) is an English, official document accompanying the diploma which gives a supplementary description of the obtained qualification. It is useful when applying for jobs or recognition of qualifications, as well as in connection with further studies abroad.

Please note that the DS is only a supplement to the diploma, concerning one specific degree obtained by one individual graduate, which is valid only together with the specific diploma.

Transcripts

You can order a transcript of records in Studentweb, but you can also share your results from the Diploma Registry.

Postponing the diploma

Notify the exam office well in advance before receiving the final grade. A student may defer receiving their diploma for up to two semesters after completing their degree, according to the Regulations relating to study programmes and examinations at UiA, § 40(8).

Please note: a diploma is final, and it is not possible to have any grade improvements added to a diploma that has already been issued. We also do not issue a new diploma in connection with a name change. The name on the diploma should reflect the name the student had when completing the programme.

Authorization for healthcare personnel

You can apply for authorization under the Health Personnel Act when you have completed a bachelor's degree in nursing, health care supervision, or biomedical engineering. For nurses who complete their education after January 1, 2023, there is a simplified application process where you log in to Tjenesteportalen for helseaktører and follow a short process with a fee of NOK 750. The authorization will be registered in the Health Personnel Register (HPR).

For social education workers and biomedical engineers, UiA will send an overview to the Norwegian Directorate of Health on your behalf if you have given consent to this in Studentweb. You will receive an SMS or email from Altinn informing you that you can pay a fee of NOK 750. After the payment is completed, you will normally be authorized within a few minutes. Check the Health Personnel Register (HPR) to see if you are registered. A user guide for payment requests from the Norwegian Directorate of Health is also available.

Open bachelor

It is possible to apply for an open bachelor's degree. To have your application approved, at least 60 credits must be completed at UiA.
