The research group focuses on examining the role digital technologies play in human development, including its economic, social, cultural and political dimensions.
The ICT4D research group aims to:
- Produce scholarly work that shows the relevance of digital technologies in alleviating development issues in the Global South as well as in the Global North
- Develop strong relationships with other academic institutions interested in studying the interplay between digital technologies and human development
- Partner with government agencies, business organisations and non-governmental organisations to develop ICT4D initiatives
- Exchange and disseminate ICT4D research
- Support academics and mentor master’s and PhD students working on ICT4D-related topics
- Develop proposals for funding ICT4D research projects
- Provide an intellectually stimulating platform to its members and stakeholders
