Off-campus access

eduVPN

eduVPN (virtual private network) provides UIA students and staff with secure access to the university's electronic resources, such as library content and licensed programs, from any location, and secures against unwanted access.

Go to eduVPN

Using a VPN increases security and is especially recommended when traveling and when you are off campus.

Some of the university's online resources require a connection to the UiA network from outside the university campus, such as library databases. In such cases, we recommend that you use the program (client) eduVPN

How to access e-books and e-articles

Students and staff at UIA can access e-resources off-campus. Other people can only read e-resources on campus.

It can be difficult to know whether UiA has electronic access or not. In the hit list in Oria, click on the link "Full text". Either the resource will open automatically, or you will get a link to one or more providers. Sometimes it will also say "No full text available". We cannot borrow e-books from other libraries, but if you order the book, we will consider buying access or borrowing a printed edition.

In some cases, you will not be able to open the article or book, even though it looks like UiA has access.
