About the department
The Department of Nordic and Media Studies educates professionals for work in schools, publishing, libraries, media institutions, communication departments, and other relevant areas. We have a large and diverse academic community with extensive collaborations with external organisations outside of the university, both in terms of offering practical placements for students and joint research projects.
We conduct research in many areas related to language, literature, text, didactics, and media studies. Please consult the presentation of research groups at the department, even though these do not provide exhaustive information on everything our staff engages in.
