Hilde T. Mikkelsen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Health and Nursing Sciences. She was employed at the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences in 2015 and teaches within the bachelor's Program in Nursing, within the Palliative Care education and within the Masters' Program in Public Health Nurse.

Hilde was educated nurse in 2008. Her clinical work experience is mainly from palliative cancer care. She has a master's degree in Health Sciences from the University of Agder (2013) with "Palliative cancer patients' experiences of participating in lifestyle interventions during cancer treatment" as her main theme. Hilde completed her PhD in 2022 focusing on "Quality of life and pain in adolescents and their parents". Her research is connected to the project Start Young and the research group Heifa.
