Areas of responsibility
I have a PhD in science education (2024) and MSc in biology (2000) from the University of Oslo. I was a teacher in high school from 2002-2014 and taught the subjects of biology, science and mathematics. Since 2014, I have been working at the Department of Natural Sciences. I teach biology and science didactics in the teacher education programme.
Research
Academic interests
My primary research interest is the history and philosophy of biology in science education, mainly related to teaching and learning about biodiversity in the teacher education program.
Besides teaching I am writing my dissertation with the preliminary title: Exploring living nature – Modes of observation in history, teaching and learning. A phenomenological approach.
