What do we have?

The housing simulators at i4Health are simulated living environments, representing either a private home or an institution. They are built in modules, allowing flexibility to simulate various rooms. Currently, we have two fully equipped apartments, each containing a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. They are equipped with adjustable kitchen cabinets and bathroom fixtures, as well as audio and camera surveillance in all rooms. We have a control room adjacent to the apartments where everything can be monitored, along with a teaching room next door, enabling scenarios to be streamed directly there via video.

Applications

The possibilities are numerous, and only imagination sets the limits! The housing simulators are constructed in a way that allows for testing everything from simple solutions, such as developing bathroom furniture, to more radical inventions like radar sensors, where test subjects can stay overnight to measure various data.

Interactive test scenarios can be created for research, education, and innovation purposes.

Utilizing the facilities for training and education of healthcare personnel.

Demonstrating new solutions.

It's also possible to simulate digital patient pathways where one can examine everything from information flow and workflow to technology support

Why use an housing simulator?

Systematic analysis for improvement potential: A housing simulator provides the opportunity to conduct thorough analyses of various aspects of a living environment. This may include layout, functionality, ergonomics, and accessibility. By systematically analyzing these elements, areas for improvement can be identified. This can help optimize design and functionality before real homes/solutions are built, saving both time and resources in the long run.

Testing new technology in natural environments: Housing simulators can also be used to evaluate and test new technology intended for integration into future homes. This can include everything from smart home solutions to sustainable energy systems. By placing this technology in a simulated but realistic housing environment, its functionality, reliability, and user-friendliness can be assessed under natural conditions before implementation in actual homes.

Innovation in practice: Explore new work methods and processes in a safe and controlled environment. Test new technologies and solutions before implementing them in reality, and optimize performance and efficiency.

Opportunity for secure video recording: Used for evaluation and further development of solutions
