Innhold

This courses studies in great depth particular aspects of the political system of the European Union and policies and the methodology of European studies. Topics may vary from year to year according to current developments in and scholarly discussions on the European Union, but are likely to include the European Union enlargement, external relations and Norway¿s relationship with the EU.

Læringsutbytte

Upon successful completion of this course, the student

• should have broad knowledge of the current challenges confronting the EU and its Member States

• is familiar with core aspects and future challenges of European integration and the European Union

• has some knowledge of political processes of the European Union¿s institutions and policies studied in this course

• can reflect upon conflicting interests and developments underwriting current issues of the European Union

• can communicate the perspectives for future development of the European Union

Vilkår for å gå opp til eksamen

Minimum 80 % of class attendance and participation in compulsory seminars and/or role play. Further information will be given in Canvas.

Undervisnings- og læringsformer

This course is offered during summer and will be based on lectures, working groups, seminars and a role play. Students are expected to engage actively.

Studentevaluering

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Eksamen

Four hours written exam with graded assessment.
