  • How the internet ties into issues of sustainability and energy consumption

  • How the platform services work and how they are monetized

  • ISO-standards, metadata, MPEG-formats, proprietary and non-proprietary technologies, their strengths and shortcomings

  • Value gap, notice and take down, DMCA (USA) and EU law

Læringsutbytte

On successful completion of this course, the student should: 

  • have acquired an overview of existing and coming technologies relevant to the field of music industry

  • be able to undertake in-depth analysis of the development and evolution of new technologies 

  • be able to critically assess the validity of conclusions drawn about the progress of new technologies and their impact on business models and the legal framework

Compulsory attendance in the lectures.

Undervisnings- og læringsformer

The course makes use of lectures, individual work and group work. The expected workload for the student is 27 hours per credit.

Studentevaluering

One 5-hour individual written exam. Assessed on the basis A-F (with A as the highest and F as fail).
