Innhold

The aim of this course is for students to gain access to arenas where they can practice and apply knowledge and insights building on theories and methods acquired in their bachelor studies. Students are to do an internship in the public or private sector, or with a non-governmental organisation (NGO). Students may also do an internship at the University of Agder. During their internship, students are to write an internship report. The topic of this report should be connected to the workplace and to the student's tasks.

Læringsutbytte

On successful completion of the course, the student will:

  • Be able - on an advanced level - to apply theoretical knowledge acquired in their studies in a practical work setting.
  • Be able to write and orally present a scientific report.
  • Be able to collaborate with scientific personnel on relevant research problems.

Vilkår for å gå opp til eksamen

  • Participation requirements for compulsory supervision must be met.
  • The internship must be completed.

Undervisnings- og læringsformer

  • Internship. The internship period will be from 8 to 10 weeks depending on specific placements and goals.
  • Report writing during internship
  • Supervision is a compulsory part of the internship and will be planned so that the students receive follow-up with their local supervisor regularly during the internship.

Estimated workload is 405 hours.

Studentevaluering

The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the Quality System for Education, chapter 4.1

Opptakskrav hvis tilbudt som enkeltemne

Admission to the course requires a bachelor's degree in physical education, exercise science, sport(s) science, human movement science, or kinesiology. Applicants with other relevant bachelor's degrees or similar education may upon special consideration be accepted as students.

All students applying must submit a letter of motivation (approx. 300 words) explaining their reasons for wishing to complete the internship, and a short description of their previous experience and knowledge in sport science. The course is offered to international students from partner institutions.

Eksamen

Students are to deliver an individual internship report at the end of the internship. The student receives a graded assessment on the report. The grade can be adjusted by one grade after an individual adjusting oral exam.
