Innhold

The aim of this course is to prepare the students for real life decision-making in international business to the benefit of society, especially focusing on SDG # 8 (Decent work and economic growth). The laboratory experience implies that the students will work with real companies and their executives. The focus of the course will be on strategic, sustainable, financial, marketing and managerial challenges as the firm internationalize.

Læringsutbytte

On successful completion of this course the student should be able to:

• understand how to access and collect information relevant to international business.

• develop an awareness of the challenges inherent in decision-making in international business, including issues of sustainability.

• develop skills in formulating and implementing international strategies, as well as the ability to communicate such strategies in verbal and written form.

• apply various international business theories to actual company cases.

Approved presentations. More information will be given in Canvas at the start of the semester.

Undervisnings- og læringsformer

Lectures, group work, student presentations and case discussions. Students are expected to attend all classes, participate in project presentations, and take part in class discussions. Estimated workload is about 200 hours.

Studentevaluering

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
