Innhold
The aim of the course is to prepare students for international business. The first objective of the course will be to offer the students a theoretical foundation for international business - especially the institutional host country environment, and the firm-specific foundation for international competitiveness. Second, the course will address various international business activities; such as trade, investment, and management of international cash flow. Third, the course will deal with specific challenges related to globalization; such as European integration, the global trade system and multinational firms, and corporate social responsibility. Forth, the course will address how the internationally oriented firm can succeed by means of; choice of start-up strategy and entry strategies. Fifth, the course will address how international business affect firms´ conduct in terms of organization structure, human resource management, and marketing and supply chain management.
Læringsutbytte
On successful completion of this course the student should be able to demonstrate:

Undervisnings- og læringsformer
Lectures, group work, student presentations and case discussions. Students are expected to attend class, participation in presentation of projects, and take part in class discussions. Material covered in class, the textbook and the cases covered - will be the basis for the exam questions. The total workload of the course is estimated to 200 hours.

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Eksamen
One group assignment comprising 40% of the final letter grade and 3-hour written examination (multiple choice test) comprising 60% of the final letter grade.
