This is an introductory course to creative process management. Although design thinking is one of many approaches to creative processes, it is a widely recognized way of work. The students will explore and conduct the key concepts of design thinking - including user insight, problem definition, ideation and prototyping and testing. Design thinking put people in the core of innovation - in other words; it is a method in problem solving and human oriented innovation. The course will present the students with real life experiences, examples and practical tools and a thorough training in presenting their work. The cource aims to include cases from external partners for the students to address. Estimated student workload is approximately 203 hours.
Læringsutbytte
Upon successful completion of this course the student should: • Have a basic understanding of Design thinking as an approach to problem solving. • Be able to conduct qualitative research, such as interviews, and synthezise the data. • Be able to plan and facilitate creative workshops. • Be able to create prototypes and test these with users. • Have improved his/her visual communication and presentation skills. • Have improved her/his skill in critical reflection of his/her own process.

Pass all three group assignments.
Undervisnings- og læringsformer
The course is highly participatory and hands-on. In order to gain a maximum learning outcome, it is required of the students to actively participate in the scheduled itinerary. More information will be made available on Canvas before course start. There will be three group assignments the students will have to pass in order to take the final exam. All three group assignments will be presented for the rest of class. All group work will consist of 2-4 people pr group - including the exam.
