ORG105 – Basic Entrepreneur Course in Business Establishment
This course is an introduction to entrepreneurship and teaches how to start/develop your own business. Topics include: method for developing business idea, business plans, new products & services, markets and customer relations, presentations, networking, financial management, and the start up process. Students work in groups and must complete an approved business plan and examination to complete the class.
This class is a great introduction to entrepreneurship for a variety of students. After completing the course, students should be able to define fundamental entrepreneurship theory and obtain practical skills that enable them to establish or develop a new or existing business. This course is an excellent opportunity to discover entrepreneurial tools that can be used in the future. It is also perfect to identify if one has the motivation and desire to pursue entrepreneurial ventures.
TFL107 - Entrepreneurship (for Art Students)
This course is offered to Art students and created to provide them with abilities in entrepreneurship. It is tailored specifically to art students so they can develop their own ideas and create art-based business in the future. This course is presents some tools from the business side of their art focus so they can market and sell themselves effectively in a business environment. It allows them to create a business plan that is based on their own ideas. They work in small groups (3-5 people), to create this business plan and present it to students and investors for real-world experience. This is basically an introduction to entrepreneurship course that is created for art students.
It is taught by Erik Arntsen, who provides knowledge of products, markets and customers. This course is intensive and only allows for a couple of weeks for the groups to develop their ideas. The students are also offered opportunities to listen to different speakers, such as movies directors and local business owners. All of whom commit themselves to help the students in completion of their project.

ORG-207 Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Fall semester in Kristiansand and in Grimstad.
Learning outcomes; on successful completion of this course the student should be able to demonstrate:
understanding of innovation processes and management challenges in general, and in the entrepreneurship context in particular
familiarity with techniques of enhancing creativity, recognizing opportunities, and identifying market gaps

IS-106 Hands-on e-business for entrepreneurs
This course is taught in English every Autumn Term. It is selectable for students attend a Bachelor's programme of business administration or a Bachelor's programme in IT and information systems. It is recommended to have studied two years in a Bachelor's programme or have made 120 ECTS of studies in business administration and/or information systems.
This course does not only consist of lectures hold by the professor and guest lectures but also of lab exercises in order to understnad the technology and project presentations.Assessment methods and criteria Portfolio assessment consisting of presentation and an e-business strategy report from project I which comprises 30 %, and an e-business businessplan and demonstration prototype from project II which comprises 70 % of the final grade. Presentation of the projects are obligatory.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
demonstrate insight into fundamental concepts of e-business and its role in strategy and business
comprehend basic e-business applications
plan for and implement a simple e-business system in an organization
evaluate and adapt the interaction between business plan and e-business solution
The course consists of the three parts: The theory and two projects. During the theory part, the professor transmitted knowledge about th erole of e-business nad the types of e-business. Besides, it contains possible e-business strategies and teach how to write a "e-business plan".
The first project defines an e-business strategy in relation to a real life business. For example in relation to a start-up enterprise and its business plan, or in relation to some other existing business. Due to the fact that all the groups contain of both business and IT-students, team working skills will be also taught. At the end of the project, each group presents their idea and strategy to the class, each group gets an opponent group representing as "investors" evaluating the idea.
The second project is about making a prototype e-business implementation (and a plan for what would be needed for going towards real life implementation) which you can show to a group of investors who decide whether the idea is worth funding. At the end of the project work, each group presents /"sells" their idea and strategy to the class. If possible, in addition to the student "investor" groups, there would be a representative from professional life to evaluate the "e-business plans".
DAT218 Entrepreneurship
This course is tought in Norwegian at the Campus in Grimstad. After having successfully completed the course, the participants receive 5ECTS. The DAT218 is a seminar-based course with 3-5 workshops. Assessment methods and criteria Project work including project report and oral presentation of the results are with mutual grades for the group. Oral presentations are adjusting and can be individually evaluated. Graded assessment.
Participants will be able to evaluate an innovative idea with the aim of commercialization as well as to evaluate possibilities of protection of intellectual property rights and the techniques required to achieve protection.Besides, the students will gain the ability to formulate a business plan with actual analysis including budget plans and to give a presentation for an innovative business idea.
Through seminars that challenge students to think about starting their own business as a career, and becoming an entrepreneur, the course focuses on themes such as idea development, market research and benchmarking, the product development process, design and production.
The students will write a business plan which will contain of the product description, calculations of profitability, identification of beachhead and investment plans.On top, students will be concerned with the launching procedure containing the registration and the establishment. They will also work on the the business organization, the marketing and sales of their developed product.
In order to improve their presentation skills, the participants will lear how to present their idea so that investors will be attracted.
The course will start with an interactive workshop sessions to help students think about ideas and possibilities associated with entrepreneurship, where creativity is a must in order to figure out good ideas giving the project work a realistic focus.
