Insect trap in the botanical garden

The tent collects insects for a research project. The project explores the role of urban gardens in conserving pollinating insects across Europe. The project compares pollinator communities in urban areas with agricultural landscapes.

Pollinating insects are crucial for our environment and food production. However, they are impacted by climate change and habitat loss. As agriculture intensifies worldwide, urban gardens become increasingly important for preserving insect diversity.

This trap is one of the representatives for Norway and will be in place for 5 weeks.

Thank you for leaving it undisturbed.
