In this bed, you'll find many different perennials that thrive well under our climate conditions. Perennials are plants that live for many years, typically herbaceous ornamental plants. The shoots wither in autumn, but their roots overwinter.

Perennials can become very old and are usually easy to propagate by dividing the roots. Thus, perennials can have a long and interesting history. Often, such old perennials are found remaining in older gardens, cemeteries, in old public garden areas, and around abandoned houses, farms, and cottages.

The perennials in this bed are selected to bloom from early spring to late autumn
