The park in its original form was established during the period 1780-1800.

The oldest trees of common lime in the park may have been planted in the 1770s. Later, the park has continuously received new additions, partly through planting and partly through self-seeding.

Traditionally, the park features several meandering footpaths.

Among other deciduous trees, beech, Norway maple, lime, ash, horse chestnut, and locust trees are prevalent.
