Nadia Saad Noori

Associate Professor

By training I am a computer engineer and have 10 years combined experience in software engineering and in business and management.
After finishing my PhD at LaSalle URL in Barcelona electronic and information  engineering, I am now working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Integrated Emergency Management and part of the iTRACK project team with UiA in Grimstad.

Before going back to research life, I held a product manager position at a non for profit, Coral CEA in Ottawa, Canada. Before that I was engaged as a software developer with Blindside Networks Inc., the company behind the BigBlueButton Open Source Web Conferencing project.
I, therefore, have extensive experience in Java EE programming platform, web based applications, web service, SOAP and Red 5 web conferencing server. I also have experience with C/C++ programming languages, parallel computing, and multi-processing, distributed and real-time systems. Not to mention debugging and performance monitoring tools.
Being a native Iraqi, I worked few years in pre and post-war Iraq (Baghdad and Kurdistan Region) as Director of Admin and Finance for a British company. Such role developed my skills in managing personnel from different backgrounds (expatriates and locals), different ethnicities, and different cultures. Working in such a harsh environment required flexibility and agility in the analysis and digesting of information for timely and effective decision-making.
Love sports and outdoors! enjoy running, cycling and used to do Dragon Boating.
I always look for new challenges work wise where I can explore new technologies and apply acquired knowledge.
