Before you arrive

Before entering the exam room, make sure you have checked that your username and password are correct, as well as taken care of any necessary errands such as buying food, drinks and snacks, and using the toilet. Once inside the exam room, you may only leave 60 minutes after the exam has started.

Be in the exam room at least 30 minutes before the exam starts. This will allow you time to set up your computer, ensure that you can log in, and prepare your exam space.

On your desk

  • Valid ID with photo
  • Laptop or Mac
  • Charger
  • Pen(s)
  • Draft paper and submission paper distributed by the invigilators
  • Food and drink
  • Study aids approved by the lecturer

Once everything is laid out on your desk, you should leave your coat and backpack / bag with you to the back or front of the room. Mobile phones and watches are put on airplane mode and are stored inside your bag or backpack.

Registration

Bring your identification to the lectern where one of the exam supervisors is sitting. Only students who can present valid identification are allowed to take the exam.

Once you are registered, return to your seat until the exam begins. You are allowed to talk to your fellow students until the exam starts, but please be considerate of others.

Who is in the examination room?

In addition to you and your fellow students who are taking the exam, you will meet the exam invigilators. They are present to assist you with practical matters during the exam and ensure that the exam is conducted correctly and fairly for all.

There will also be a technical invigilator available in case there are any problems with logging in. This is why it is so important for you to be present at least 30 minutes before the exam start time.

The course coordinator usually does not attend, but will be available during the exam in case there is an error or deficiency in the task description.

The exam begins

The exam invigilators will let you know when the exam starts, and at that point, all communication with your fellow students must cease. This is the time to focus on your exam and you should use it as effectively as possible. It's not about completing it quickly; it's about doing it well.

During the exam

If you need a break or two during the exam, raise your hand and wait for one of the exam supervisors. You cannot visit the student cafeteria or coffee shop during the exam. Tell them if you want to bring your jacket and quietly leave the exam room. The first opportunity for a break is one hour after the start of the exam.

How will you know how much time is left? In Inspera, you can see the remaining time at all times. Additionally, the exam overseer will give verbal notice when the exam is approaching its end.

Submitting the exam

After submitting your answer, wait for an exam supervisor to confirm that your answer has been submitted. Then gather your things and quietly pack up.

Good luck!
