- The deadline for applying is one week after the exam/assignment due date.
- Documentation must be dated no later than the exam date.
- Please use the digital application form on this page.
- Remember to have a doctor's note ready, or other type of documentation.
Application for valid absence
After a valid absence has been granted, you must sign up for the exam next semester yourself.
What is considered valid absence?
Situations that may entitle you (with valid documentation) to legitimate absence are:
- you or your child(ren) are ill
- death in close family or others you have a close relationship with
- funeral in close family or others you have a close relationship with
- public authority order that prevents you from attending the exam
- home defense exercise
- anything else that makes it highly unreasonable to require you to complete an assessment/exam
- if you have two exams on the same day, but this presupposes that you have passed the exam requirements
Other types of reasons for absence that cannot be documented are invalid absences and will count as one examination attempt. You will also not be able to register to take the exam in the next accounting period, and will have to wait until the next time the exam is given.
Postponed examination
If your application is granted, it will appear under your exam results in StudentWeb. Only a response letter will be sent out if the application is not approved. Remember that you are also responsible for signing up for the postponed exam within the deadline of 1 February or 1 September.
Illness and mandatory work requirements
Valid absences are not registered for mandatory work requirements. Contact the subject teacher directly if you have problems delivering compulsory work requirements on time due to illness. The work requirements must be approved before you can take the exam. If you are too ill to deliver the requirements, you must take the course the following academic year.
