Social Erasmus

SocialErasmus+ is an international project by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) that promotes a social attitude among young citizens participating in mobility programs, to facilitate their integration into the local community while gives them the chance to make a long-lasting social change in society through volunteering activities. The project goes under the slogan: Leave your mark!

Social Erasmus at UiA

Through different activities under SocialErasmus+ scheme, international students are provided with different opportunities to explore and understand the communities in Kristiansand and Grimstad better. We believe that your mobility programs will be much more fulfilled and meaningful with these precious and practical experiences in the local community. SocialErasmus+ activities, therefore, will not just give you the platform for fostering cultural understanding through experience exchange but also build a bridge for international cooperation and students’ engagement as global citizens.

How to engage

Social Erasmus in School

Through SocialErasmus+, international students have access to different elementary or secondary schools in the local communes. Here students can both attend or organize different activities which match their interests and competences. SocialErasmus+ in School offers also distinguish chances for getting the better picture of Norwegian school system and not least, hands-on and certified international experience to all students.

You can find more information about our partner schools and potential activities in schools here.

Volunteering Activities

Norway is famous for its spectacular nature, but not everyone knows about the rich and long-rooted culture of doing volunteering in the country. Many mobility students may visualize themselves exploring corners of mountains and beaches in Norway, while others would also like to know how much Norwegian people love their cottages/cabins or how big outdoor activities play a role in Norwegian culture. Engaging in a variety of volunteering in the local community is a perfect way to enrich your cultural understanding through mobility programs, and most importantly, as an insider.
