The student:

Knowledge:

  • Has knowledge of science theory, research processes and research method and knows the principles of research ethics

  • Is able to update his/her expertise in nursing

  • Is able to search, assess and apply scientific knowledge in a project

  • Is able to present, discuss and reflect on own and others' project orally and in writing

  • Is able to prepare and discuss professional issues within nursing

General competence

  • Is able to plan and implement a project (bachelor's thesis)

  • Has knowledge of critical thinking in research and academic work in nursing

Examination requirements

  • Attended compulsory lectures in the course

  • Approved presentations in two project seminars

  • Attended compulsory supervision

Teaching methods

Lectures and supervised work on a bachelor's project.

The student workload is estimated to 405 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written bachelor's thesis. The assignment will be in groups of 2-3 students. Graded assessment.
