Course contents

The course elaborates on the theoretical foundation that students have acquired in French language 1. In the teaching, emphasis is placed on morphological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic aspects of word, phrase, sentence and text structure. Various activities such as summary writing and translations will be used to train the practical command of French.

Examination requirements

Mandatory attendance requirement: 70%
Students in the teacher education: The practice placement must be completed and passed.
All other students: A summary or a translation must be approved. Further information will be given in Canvas when the semester starts.

 

Teaching methods

Lectures and seminars.
For students in teacher education, grades 8-13, supervised professional work experience is included. The students' active participation is necessary to develop good language skills, therefore participation in the course is compulsory.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.

Assessment methods and criteria

  • 4-hour written examination in grammar under supervision counts 2/3 towards the final grade. No examination support material is allowed

  • 3-hour written examination under supevision in practical usage counts 1/3 towards the final grade. You are allowed to use the dictionary "Le Petit Robert I" eller "Le Micro-Robert")
