The student:

  • demonstrates knowledge about nursing care for people who are acutely, critically and/or chronically ill

  • demonstrates knowledge of patient safety and registration of nonconformities

  • is able to provide nursing care to acutely, critically and / or chronically ill people

  • is able to contribute to safe transfer to ensure good patient care

  • is able to take care of and follow up on prescribed medical treatment, including sound drug handling, in collaboration with the patient and relatives

Compulsory attendance (90%). The scope of work in the course is estimated to 405 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam consists of 9 weeks supervised practice, with 1 week simulation practice and 8 weeks clinical practice. There is a requirement of 90% attendance for simulation practice and clinical practice combined.

Participation in group meetings, written work and oral presentations must be approved in order for the practice to be assessed to pass.

Assessment expression: Pass / fail
