Course contents
The subject provides a thorough introduction to these contemporary research designs as tools for academic work. This includes the content on relationships and conflicts between more general scientific theories and research designs in participatory and action research. This subject will also work with perspectives on the epistemology, and ethics, of the research designs addressed. Current challenges and practice examples for these research designs are also important aspects of this course.

- has knowledge of contemporary perspectives on epistemology, ethics, and research designs on participatory-, and action research in different fields

- can analyze and discuss different perspectives, relationships, and theories of knowledge on participatory and action research
- can formulate epistemological, methodological, and ethical problems related to participatory, and action research in educational science research
- can present different research designs in participatory or action research
- can relate participatory and action research knowledge to the candidate's ongoing research work
General competence
The candidate:
- can identify and discuss relationships and conflicts between more general scientific theories and research designs in participatory and action research related to the candidate's field of research
- can present oral and written forms basic qualities and issues in field-, participatory-, and action research design
