Course contents
The need for change is one of the most common events that organizations face. The course identified this need based on the perspectives of environmental change, strategic change and internal organizational change. The course focuses on analyzing the need for change and processes of change.
The themes are:

Types of changes that affect organizations

The role of top management change

The role of middle managers in change

Mechanisms for changes in organizations

Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course the student should be able to:

understand the importance of the relationship between the context and the needs for change

recognize the various stakeholders in the change process and the roles that each has

analyze the need for change

identify tools that can be used to facilitate change

understand how learning and unlearning is related to change
Examination requirements
Approved compulsory group assignment. More information in Canvas at the start of the semester.
Teaching methods
Lectures and group work. Estimated work load is about 200 hours.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.

3 hour written examination with letter grades.
