Course contents
Communication for engineers, Argumentation analysis and rhetoric, Scientific Writing, Scientific poster: Language, illustrations, layout, PP presentation, Computer tools for writing assignments, Critical evaluation of sources, Intellectual property rights, Patenting.
Learning outcomes
On successfull completion of the course, the student is expected to

have knowledge on rethorics and language

be able to write scientific texts

be able to present scientific assignments visually and orally

have skills in text processing (Word) and precentation tools (Power Point)

have knowledge on correct use of different sources, intellectual property rights and patenting
Examination requirements
For the portfolio to be approved, at least 80 % of the portfolio hand-ins must be approved. Information will be given in Canvas at the start of the semester
Teaching methods
Lectures and practical exercises. Information on compulsory coursework will be given in Canvas at the start of the semester.
Evaluation
Course evaluation is carried out as a midterm evaluation in accordance with standard procedure in the quality assurance system, chapter 2.1.1., unless other information is given in the beginning of the semester.
Assessment methods and criteria
Portfolio. Pass/fail.
Information about the content of the portfolio will be given in Canvas by the start of the semester. There will not be arranged a postponed exam for the portfolio.
