Course contents
Course includes:

work with rehearsing solo and ensemble repertoire

rehearsing solo repertoire with an accompanist

participating in concerts both as soloist and with an ensemble

studies of relevant sound material, recordings and literature

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students shall:

be able to work independently with rehearsal and practice techniques

learn repertoire from different styles

acquire sufficient skills on the instrument as to realise musical intentions

acquire broad knowledge about sound material, recordings and literature relevant for the instrument
Examination requirements

Approved solo performance at minimum 2 concerts hosted by UiA.

Approved ensemble performance at minimum 1 concert hosted by UiA.

Approved compulsory lesson attendance
Teaching methods
The course is conducted through individual lessons and group lessons. During the course, the student will participate in different projects and seminars. Each student will receive individual lessons on their main instrument, in addition to ensemble lessons. There will be room for flexible organisation regarding various projects. Attending the lessons is compulsory.
Expected workload for an average student is 27 hours per credit.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.

Individual performance test with technical and/or interpretive tasks decided by the teacher. Duration: ca 20 mins.
