The course is both theoretical and practice-based, and concerns how students are able to establish their own ideas of musical presentation in society through cultural institutions and public prioritising of music, as well as through their own enterprise. The course includes production-competence, concert dramaturgy, arts- and culture funding, cultural appreciation and be knowleageble of the market. The aim is to be able to develop projects that are relevant to society, serve a function for the participants and are worthy of funding.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students shall:

be able to produce music presentational projects, from the start of the project application process through to completion

be able to develop a project that documents artistic competence and insight in production processes

have gained insight in different models of concert dramaturgy

have knowledge of the main trends and societal demands within the music- and arts field

Teaching methods
Tuition is offered through lectures, group-work and practical workshops centred on concert production. Supervision is provided both individually and in groups.
Parts of the tuition is mandatory. These will be presented in Canvas at the beginning of the semester.
Expected workload for an average student is 27 hours per credit.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.

Assessment methods and criteria
One written and audiovisual individual home exam. Duration: 21 days. Further information will be provided through Canvas at the start of the semester.
Assessment: Grade A-F
