Course includes:

work on performance-psychology and relevant theory

work with mental exercising relaxation-techniques and breathing techniques, as well as the body weight displacement, gravity and the relation between mental and physical states

work with techniques for concentration and mental focus

work with topics related to what inhibits and what promotes the possibility for unleashing one’s potential during a performance
-
practice and exercise on stage
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students shall:

have knowledge about theories related to performance-psychology relevant to their own practice

have a good command of tension-regulating tools, such as breathing techniques and relaxation techniques

have good command of concentration techniques and presence in relation to their own artistic performance
-
be able to reflect on mechanisms affecting performance
-
be able to apply performance-psychological knowledge to their own performance

Teaching methods
This is a practically oriented course. It emphasises practice-relevant tuition and active student involvement through workshops, group-work, work “on the floor”, and active participation in joint discusions. Each student will relate the topic to their own practice.
Parts of the tuition is mandatory. These will be presented in Canvas at the beginning of the semester.
Expected workload for an average student is 27 hours per credit.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.

One individual oral exam. Scope: 20–25 minutes.
