Course contents

Arithmetic and algebra, set theory, equations and inequalities, trigonometry, functions, limits and continuity, differentiation, geometry, exponential and logarithmic functions, probability and combinatorics.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student is expected to have:

necessary knowledge in mathematics to go on to MA-007 Pre-Course in Mathematics 2

knowledge and skills that correspond to R1 (2MX) from the Norwegian videregående skole (upper secondary school)

Teaching methods

Summer lessons 5 days per week in 6 week with start at the end of June: Lectures and exercises 4 hours per day and exercises 2 hours per day in groups.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.”

Assessment methods and criteria

Portfolio assessment. Graded pass/fail. More information about the portfolio will be given in Canvas. There will not be arranged a posponed exam for the portfolio.
