Course contents
The course will provide insight into and understanding for interdisciplinary and intercultural processes in fine arts subjects and artistic dissemination. Through a group project, the student will become conscious of particular presentation methods and reception conventions in different art forms, and will find out how they relate to or overlap with each other. The interdisciplinary nature of art can mean finding inspiration in the other art forms, putting different art forms together or creating new forms. Students will analyse and reflect upon the relationships between the different arts forms and between art and digital media. This reflection is based on fine art's particular discourses, aesthetic theories or an interdisciplinary theoretical perspective. Further, this interdisciplinary perspective on art and art dissemination is broadened during the course through emphasis on reflections upon the cultural grounding of art concepts and terminology as well as the opportunites and challenges for art and art dissemination being intercultural productions.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will:

have knowledge about cultural, analytical and interdisciplinary issues and aesthetic theoretical perspectives related to the fine arts and fine arts dissemination

be able to create an artistic development project grounded in interdisciplinary and intercultural perspectives

be able to use correct terminology to reflect upon and describe different relationships among the fine arts, and between art and digital media

Teaching methods
The course will have a practical and a theoretical component. During the course, students will discuss and debate the practical, interdisciplinary work in terms of the broader issues and theories. Instruction is given in the form of lectures, seminars and supervision. Active student participation in the form of seminars and project presentations is required.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
