JU-103 Law, or equivalent.

Course contents

Issues related to the application of law in the course of employment, such as hiring, work hours, vacation, working environment, employer's managerial prerogative and termination of employment.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to:

  • account for and explain the the central issues of labour law

  • identify the most relevant sources of law within labour law and apply these to practical cases

  • recognise the relationship between the various rules, and make a critical evaluation of the state of law in the issues attended to in the course

  • reflect on ethical issues within the area of labour law

  • acquire new knowledge within the area of labour law

  • able to reflect on ethical issues in labor law in order to apply the regulations in a responsible manner.

Examination requirements

Approved written assignment.

Lectures, group work and exercises.
