The course covers key aspects of effective communication for cybersecurity at individual, organizational and societal levels. This includes dominant communication and teamwork frameworks with an emphasis on how individuals and organizations collaborate and cope with cybersecurity crises before, during and after they happen. The course also sheds light on the deceptive communication tactics used in cyberattacks, and the defensive mechanisms against those types of attacks.
Learning outcomes
After completing this course, the student should be able to

Discuss the importance of communication and teamwork for cybersecurity at individual, organizational and societal levels.

Communicate key cybersecurity concepts effectively to different stakeholders.

Apply key principles and techniques for effective communication before, during and after cybersecurity crises.

Recognize and thwart deceptive communication practices in cyberspace.
Examination requirements
Approved mandatory presentations and submissions. Mandatory participation in group discussions and presentations, in order to pass the examination requirement. More detailed information is provided in Canvas at the start of the semester.
Teaching methods
The course is given as seminars including lectures, exercises, and group work. Parts of the course, in order to meet the examination requirements, are compulsory. Detailed information is provided in Canvas at the start of the semester. The estimated workload is about 210 hours.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.

Portfolio assessment organised as project reports, in groups. Further information on portfolio requirements is provided in Canvas. Graded assessment, A-F. There is no postponed examination in this course.
