Course contents

The course focuses on central themes, such as:

  • Cyber risk in digital infrastructures

  • Enterprise Architecture

  • Enterprise Information Security Architecture

  • Security controls

  • Modeling Enterprise Security Architecture

  • Emerging topics in Enterprise Security Architecture (e.g. AI, cloud, people-centric, etc.)

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will have achieved the knowledge and skills to:

  • Understand the role of Enterprise Architecture in IS governance

  • Identify strategic assets and vulnerabilities in Enterprise Architectures

  • Analyze cyber risk scenarios using Enterprise Architecture models

  • Communicate requirements for Enterprise Security Architectures

  • Design an operate an effective enterprise cyber defense program

Examination requirements

To access the final exam, students must have completed two forms of assignments.

  • Individual assignments to be submitted either before or after each lecture. Details will be provided on Canvas. Participation in class discussions, case analysis and case presentations are required to complete these mandatory assignments.

  • Group work assignment. A case will be provided by the teachers and developed during the semester. The case will be oriented towards modeling enterprise security architecture.

Teaching methods

There will be 9-12 hours of lectures and group work/practical assignments per week. Some lectures and office hours will be organized in distance learning. There is obligatory attendance for parts of these sessions. Expected workload is approximately 210 hours.

Evaluation

The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.

Assessment methods and criteria

The final assessment will be structured as follows:

30% mandatory assignments to be uploaded on Canvas before and after lectures. Detailed instructions will be made available on Canvas on a weekly basis. Assessment criteria will be the timeliness of submissions and the quality of the contribution

70% project work presented by each group at the end of the course. Assessment criteria will be the expertise in modeling enterprise security architectures and the insights on cybersecurity governance provided by the group members
