Recommended prerequisites

The instruction assumes thorough knowledge of system development: IS-102, IS-105, IS-200, IS-201 and IS-202, or equivalent.

 

Learning outcomes

Upon succesful completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • explain the role of architecture in system development

  • design, document and evaluate software architectures

  • explain how the context (e.g. the architects experience or the sociotechnical environment influences the architecture.

Up to 4 hours lectures and 8-10 hours group work/exercises per week.

Assessment methods and criteria

A 4 hour written, individual examination which comprises 60 %, and a project report which comprises 40% of the final grade. Students must pass both parts.
