Course contents

The contents will be tailored to the candidate’s needs and will typically be taken under the guidance of the dissertation mentor. The material will be a reading list as per agreement between the candidate and supervisor.

Learning outcomes

  • Acquisition of a working knowledge of an advanced theory or methods, algorithms, etc. that emanate from one or more research questions of the candidate’s dissertation.
  • Ability to cogently present and discuss advanced issues that lie within the scope of the theory.
  • Demonstration of the relevance for one or more research questions of the candidate’s dissertation.

Examination requirements

The candidate will draft a tutorial-type report that demonstrates the candidate’s successful acquisition of the working knowledge.

Evaluation

Course evaluation is carried out as a midterm evaluation in accordance with standard procedure in the quality assurance system, chapter 2.1.1., unless other information is given in the beginning of the semester.
