Course contents
Valuation and accounting: Theory, models and practical applications.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to:

Estimate the required rates of return used to calculate e.g., values of assets or overall company values.

Compute and analyze free cash flows.

Analyze and apply accounting information for valuation purposes.

Use various valuation models to calculate e.g., values of assets or overall company values.

Understand how accounting procedures can affect investment choices.

Demonstrate how valuation models can be applied to value venture capital and other private equity.

Explain how risk may influence the (un)certainty of the value estimates.

Explain the pay-off of financial options and use simple valuation models to value the options.

Explain sustainable stock picking strategies and understand how increased focus on ESG-issues may affect companies’ future cash flow and risk.

Lectures (and possibility for group work).Estimated workload is about 200 hours.
