NorwegianPrerequisites
45 ECTS credits in Nordic language and literature or equivalent. Students must be able to follow lessons in Norwegian and read textbooks in Norwegian, Swedish and Danish.

NOU209 or NOU213
Course contents
The Bachelor's thesis is an independent research project where the students are supposed to form and answer an academic problem. The problem should be related to a relevant subject within the Nordic studies. The subjects where supervision is given may vary from year to year.

On successful completion of the course, students should

Examination requirements
Students must have attended the compulsory supervision (2 tutorial meetings).
Teaching methods
Independent work under supervision, individually or in groups. Compulsory supervision: 2 tutorial meetings. The workload is estimated to about 270 hours.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.

For exchange students only.
Assessment methods and criteria
Written, individual bachelor's thesis, about 7-8000 words. Graded assessment. The exam is to be written in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language (Danish or Swedish). Evaluation will be based on academic content, communicative ability and satisfactory language use.
Other information
The course is not included in any university study programme, and is intended for exchange students needing 10 ECTS credits (or more) in Norwegian education at their home institution. This course does not comprise a component of the Norwegian teacher education programme.
