Course contents

The course consists of main instrument teaching and ensemble playing. The course focuses on developing creative and technical skills. This is achieved through investigation and exploration of possibilities in the treatment of the student's own instrument. The course emphasizes enabling the student to plan, develop, and perform their own musical project.

The course teaches students how to express their own ideas in real-time through improvisation and the use of music technology, as well as how pre-composed material can be brought into a concert setting where improvisation is also important. Central to the course is the ability to recognize, but also verbalize, different musical developments related to improvising and composing with a main instrument using music technology.
