MAS412 or equivalent.

Course contents

Kinematic constraints, inverse kinematics and forward dynamics, analysis of systems with lower and higher order pairs, closed and open chain systems.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, the student should:

  • be able to perform a dynamic analysis of complex mechanical problems

  • understand the difference between kinematic determined and non-determined analysis.

Examination requirements

Mandatory project work. Information will be given in Canvas at the start of the course.

Teaching methods

Lectures, exercises, project and laboratory work. Estimated workload for the average student is 27 hours per credit.

Evaluation

Course evaluation is carried out as a midterm evaluation in accordance with standard procedure in the quality assurance system, chapter 2.1.1., unless other information is given in the beginning of the semester.

Assessment methods and criteria

5-hours individual written examination with PC as tool (60 % contribution to the final assessment). Portfolio with project work (40 % contribution to the final assessment). The project work is to be presented orally. Both parts must be passed. Graded assessment.
