On successful completion of the course, the candidate:

  • has in-depth knowledge of theories within eHealth and Health information systems to address fundamental research questions in their primary area of study

  • has in-depth knowledge and understanding of various research designs and methods used within research in the area of eHealth and Health information systems

  • has insight and understanding at a high level of implementing and evaluating information technology in the healthcare settings

Examination requirements

The course days, group work, presentations and an approved list of elective literature are compulsory (see course plan).

Teaching methods

This course unit will be taught over 4 days course program and an essay. The teaching and learning methods will consist of a combination of lectures, group work and presentations based on the lecture topics and the candidates´s own ongoing research work.

Assessment methods and criteria

The final assignment consists of a 3000 word paper. The essay is based on a literature review conducted during the course as part of a plan of research for a study in the field. The essay will focus on a self-chosen topic related to the course content. The essay must be delivered within two weeks after the end of the course. The assignment will be graded as pass or fail.
