Course contents

The course will provide competence in the design of construction, based on the safety-theoretical basis for the design and society's demands for reliability and buildings' functional and viability. Eurocode 0 and 1 are central.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student is expected to:

  • Have knowledge of security philosophy for constructions, loads and regulations for load and response modeling

  • Have knowledge of the behavioral structure and choice of materials.

  • Have knowledge of climatic stresses as a basis for choosing materials for climate screens and design of construction details.

  • Be able to analyze the behavior of carrier structures and climate screens.

  • Be able to communicate using drawings and digital building models

Students must pass the compulsory assignments in order to take the examination
