Course contents

Basic training in analytical- and creative processes to develop designs. Drawing, 3d-modeling and physical modelling is utilized within the projects/exercises to develop creative- and analytical thinking as well as to develop a theoretical and practical knowledge of the design process.

Computer assisted drawing is taught specifically.

Learning outcomes

The student

 

- Understands the implications of the subject in relation to other subjects within civil Engineering. 

- Can explain and communicate the relation between function and design of constructions. 

- Can make basic drawings and digital models.

Examination requirements

The exercises have to be approved before students can take their exams. 

Overview of the exercises will be given upon the start of the semester.

The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.”

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam in the subject consists of 2 folders that are submitted at the end of the semester: a group-folder and an individual folder.

The group-folder is weighted 40%

The individual folder is weighted 60%

Both folders have to be passed to get a final grade in the subject.

Supplementary information about the requirements for the folders is provided in Canvas at the start of the semester
