The structure and operation of the human body is covered, particularly oriented towards the structure and function of the skeleton, muscles, neural system, sensory systems, respiratory system, lungs, digestive system and kidneys. Complex functions such as temperature regulation, hormonal regulation and human reproduction are also covered.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course the students shall be able to account for the structure and operation of the human body, particularly the central organs and the operation of complex functions such as temperature regulation, hormonal regulation and human reproduction.
Examination requirements
Compulsory multiple choice test must be passed. More information is given in canvas at the beginning of the semester.
Compulsory participation in laboratory exercises must be approved, and written lab reports must be passed, see canvas for more information.
Teaching methods
Teaching is comprised of lectures and laboratory exercises. Laboratory exercises are compulsory, and written reports must be delivered for the exercises. A theoretical introduction will be giver before, and a summing up in succession of each laboratory exercise. Voluntary multiple choice tests during the course, and feed-back on laboratory reports, comprises the basis for individual, non-counting assessment.
The course has an expected scope of work of 270 hours.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
Assessment methods and criteria
Written individual multiple choice test under supervision, 2 hour. Graded assessment.
